Dolly, a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., where she met and married her husband, Dr. Michael Peters an orthodontist, moved to Florida in 1963 with their 2 year old daughter Michelle. Michael was born a year later and Dan 5 years after Michael. Dolly, a former nurse, wife and mother of 3, filled her days raising children, playing tennis and doing many hours of volunteer work, before going back to school to secure a real estate license.
Her nursing and volunteer experience helped Dolly fine tune her organizational skills preparing her for the real estate profession. She was a past chairman of the Junior League Ball at the Breakers, as well as the Chairman of Eye and Ear Alert (a Junior League project testing hearing and vision of hundreds of school children), past board Member of The Volunteer Agency of Palm Beach County. She was also the Co-Chairman for 10 consecutive years of the "The Saint Clares 300 Club", the events raised the money to build the school library building. She also served on the Board of the Red Cross for northern Palm Beach County and was the Chairman of the Northern Palm Beach County Heart Ball, benefiting the heart association. Dolly and Michael annually support The Allegheny Valley Schools for the Mentally and Physically Challenged.
After getting her real estate license, Dolly, along with two of her associates, eventually bought Investment Equity Corp. Realtors, a company she worked for since getting her license. She became a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) and a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). Dolly & her partners became a "Christies Great Estates" exclusive affiliate, they built up the company to 3 offices and 145 agents. Approximately 12 years ago they sold the company to Illustrated Properties Real Estate, making it the largest independent company in south Florida.
Michael graduated from the University of Florida in 1985, with a bachelor of fine arts degree and a post baccalaureate degree in art education. He taught school for 6 years and was voted the youngest "Teacher of the Year" in Martin County. He organized and ran an after school art enrichment program for over 500 students and established a scholarship program for under-privileged students.
About 16 years ago, Michael made the decision to retire from teaching and partner with his mother and mentor, getting his real estate license and also becoming a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI). His real estate career was enhanced and flourished by the organizational skills he developed teaching his 900 students weekly in his art classes. Like his partner and mother, Michael quickly fell in love with the business and they continued to soar.
Together they have closed many landmark sales throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties. Their customers have included titans of industry and world class professional golfers and tennis players, including Venus and Serena Williams, Nick Price, Hale Irwin and Greg Norman. Their sale of the former Lois Pope Estate in Manalapan was, at the time, the second highest residential sale in the state of Florida also the Curcio estate on Jupiter Island, now owned by Tiger Woods, was also one of their trophy sales. To date they boast the highest sale in Admirals Cove, in Jupiter, at $12,500,000.
While Dolly and Michael have both found their calling in the real estate business, they both will tell you, their families are the most important part of their lives. According to Michael, a husband and father of two young boys, "We like to think that being low key, hard working, honest and professional is what makes us successful". Dolly adds, "The favorite aspect of selling real estate are the people we meet. They are some of the nicest, most interesting people in the country. Everyday is an adventure."
